ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Aziz Ahmad, Deputy Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, on Thursday shared key data from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Runaki project, highlighting reduced electricity costs for most households under the new progressive tariff system.

According to Ahmad, the project’s findings show:

- 25% of households consume less than 430 kWh per month

- 50% consume around 670 kWh

- 65% consume less than 800 kWh

- 86% consume less than 1,000 kWh

The progressive tariff structure, he explained, is designed to protect low-income families while encouraging responsible energy use.
