Al-Hakim Commends KDP's Support for Democracy in Anniversary Message

Ammar al-Hakim, head of the al-Hikma National Movement, congratulated the KDP on its 79th anniversary, praising its support for democracy. He called on all Iraqi forces to prioritize dialogue and the national interest for a stable and prosperous Iraq.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The head of the Al-Hikma National Movement Ammar al-Hakim on Saturday highly valued the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) stances in supporting Iraq's democratic path, using the occasion of the party's 79th anniversary to issue a broader call for all national forces to prioritize dialogue and the supreme national interest.

In a formal congratulatory message issued on Saturday, Ammar al-Hakim extended his congratulations to "the leadership, cadres, members, and supporters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, foremost among them President Barzani."

The message acknowledged the significant historical milestone while also looking toward the current and future political landscape of Iraq.

In his message, Ammar al-Hakim indicated that he and the Al-Hikma National Movement wish the KDP continued success in its efforts to serve the people of Kurdistan and Iraq. He also highlighted the party's role in strengthening the principles of democracy and peaceful coexistence among the components of "our dear homeland."

The head of the Al-Hikma National Movement explicitly stated his positive assessment of the KDP's political contributions, saying, "We highly value the stances of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in supporting the democratic path."

Building on this commendation, he encouraged all active national forces in the Iraqi arena to adopt the language of dialogue and to consider the supreme national interest above any other interest.

He further stressed that joint work should be undertaken to consolidate national unity, protect the democratic achievements, and build a strong, stable, and prosperous Iraq for all its people.
