ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani on Saturday bestowed the prestigious Medal of the Immortal Barzani upon prominent Kurdish businessman Khalid Khoshnaw, formally recognizing his extensive contributions to the Kurdistan Region through a series of major service and strategic infrastructure projects that have been instrumental in the capital's development.

The honor was conferred upon Khoshnaw on Saturday, for the significant work and service projects he has presented to the people of the Kurdistan Region.

Khalid Khoshnaw is a well-known investor and a prominent personality in the field of business as the owner of "Hemn Group," one of the most well-known companies in construction and engineering in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Founded in 1986, Hemn Group is known for implementing several important and strategic projects, particularly those related to economic infrastructure.

Under the supervision of Khalid Khoshnaw, the company has successfully implemented a portfolio of transformative projects.

Among the most significant is Erbil's Rapid Emergency Water Project, considered one of the most important and strategic initiatives of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Executed by Hemn Group with a budget of approximately 480 million dollars, the project was designed to solve the problem of water scarcity in the city of Erbil for the next 30 years. It has the capacity to provide 480,000 cubic meters of water per day, addressing a critical need for the capital's growing population.

Hemn Group has also been the driving force behind the development of Erbil's modern transportation network.

The 150-meter fast ring road, a strategic project of the Kurdistan Regional Government, has been implemented by the company.

This massive undertaking consists of five phases and spans a total length of 70 kilometers. Additionally, the company constructed the 120-meter ring road of Erbil, an approximately 38-kilometer-long artery built in several phases under Khoshnaw's supervision.

The final phase of this road, connecting the Kirkuk and Mosul roads, was officially opened on December 17, 2019, in a ceremony attended by Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
