Al-Araji Lauds KDP's 'Historic Struggle' and Solidarity with Iraqi Issues

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji on Saturday lauded the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) for its "historic struggle" and "solidarity with Iraq’s fateful issues," framing the party as a key national partner in cementing the principles of brotherhood and justice for all Iraqis in a message marking its 79th anniversary.

The commendation came in a formal statement of congratulations in which the National Security Advisor extended his "Sincere congratulations and best wishes to President Masoud Barzani and the leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party on the anniversary of the Party's founding." The message from one of Iraq's top security officials underscored a perspective of shared national history and common purpose.

In his message, al-Araji stated that his office cherishes the "national role of the Kurdistan Democratic Party." He highlighted the party's "positions of struggle alongside the Iraqi political forces," positioning the KDP as an integral part of the collective effort that contributed to "cementing the principles of brotherhood, freedom, justice, and equality among all Iraqis."

Furthermore, the National Security Advisor's message explicitly acknowledged the depth and significance of the party's long history. The statement affirmed that his office highly values "the Party's historic struggle and its solidarity with Iraq's fateful issues," recognizing the KDP's alignment with the country's critical challenges and its contributions to the wider national narrative.
