KRG Ninth Cabinet Implements Over 1,200 Projects Worth About $915 Million in Erbil Province

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has carried out more than 1,200 projects worth 1.2 trillion Iraqi dinars (approximately $915 million) in Erbil province in recent years, the Erbil Governorate announced on Sunday.
The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Umed Sabah, President of the Diwan of Council of Ministers, and Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw. The gathering brought together general directors, district mayors, and heads of service offices across the province.
At the start of the meeting, Governor Khoshnaw expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for their continued support in strengthening public services in Erbil.
According to the governorate’s statement, the projects carried out under the ninth cabinet included 1,214 service initiatives across various sectors, in addition to several large-scale strategic projects still underway. These include emergency projects and key road developments such as the Erbil–Koya, Kasnazan–Gomaspan, Gomaspan–Smaquli, and Korê–Shaqlawa–Qandil roads, as well as the Mirawa–Mawaran tunnels.
The statement highlighted that, despite challenges, Erbil province has continued to advance in implementing vital infrastructure and service projects.
The meeting also addressed ongoing needs and shortcomings in administration, finance, and development, stressing the importance of greater coordination among government institutions to ensure sustainable progress across the province.
