ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraqi Planning Ministry spokesperson Abdul Zahra Hindawi announced on Tuesday that oil exports from the Kurdistan Region are “in progress” following recent negotiations, and that an agreement has been reached on non-oil revenues.

Hindawi said a Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) delegation met with the Iraqi government’s ministerial committee in Baghdad to discuss oil exports and internal revenues.

“The meeting discussed the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region, and related issues have been finalized. The resumption of exports is imminent,” Hindawi told Kurdistan24.

He added that both sides also addressed the Region’s internal revenues, reaching a preliminary agreement to adjust them, with further talks expected in the future. “The results of today’s meeting will be presented to the Iraqi Council of Ministers for an appropriate decision,” he said.

The Iraqi committee was chaired by Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim and included Justice Minister Khalid Shwani, Minister of Construction and Housing Bangin Rekani, Health Minister Salih al-Hasnawi, Higher Education Minister Naeem al-Aboudi, and Industry Minister Khaled Battal.

The KRG delegation was led by Umed Sabah, President of the Diwan of the Council of Ministers, accompanied by Secretary of the Council Amanj Raheem and eight directors general from the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Supervision Bureau.

Meanwhile, Hoshyar Zebari, a senior Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official, stressed that the KRG has met all its obligations under the technical agreements with Baghdad.

In a post on the social media platform X on Monday, Zebari wrote: “The KRG has fulfilled its commitments to resume oil exports and hand over non-oil revenues. Now the ball is in the court of the Iraqi government to decide on the payment of June salaries for the Kurdistan Region.”
