Masrour Barzani is the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). He assumed office in July 2019.

The KRG under Masrour Barzani is implementing a wide-ranging programme of reforms to modernise the civil service, improve public services, upgrade key infrastructure and diversify the Kurdistan economy. Public-private partnership opportunities are opening up for local and foreign investors across the oil and gas, agriculture, tourism and construction sectors.

Masrour Barzani has been Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) since 2012. In this role he has been responsible for leading efforts to safeguard the Kurdistan Region from the threat posed by ISIS.

He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Kurdistan (AUK), and heads the Board of Founders of the Barzani Charity Foundation – a non-profit organisation which provides aid to refugees and internally displaced persons.
