Iraqi security forces at the Baghdad International Airport stopped two planes from bringing arms to the Kurdistan Region on Tuesday.

Members of the Coalition against ISIS were carrying weapons that should have been delivered to the Kurdistan Region. The planes and ammunition were from Sweden and Canada. But Iraqi security forces at the Baghdad International Airport stopped the planes and did not let them complete their mission.

This past Monday Hakim Zamili, Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, informed media that the Investigative Committee found a significant variety of ammunition and explosives in the Baghdad Airport.

The Iraqi government has in the past stopped coalition’s military aid from arriving in the Kurdistan Region. For the same reason, the Coalition against ISIS is considering sending ammunition directly to the Kurdistan Region.
