More than 175 suppliers, dealers and distributors were featured in the Government Video Expo where the attendees could explore the latest video equipment.

Video has recently played a large role in law enforcement and the topic has been receiving extensive mainstream news coverage. Cathy Lanier, police chief of the Washington, D.C. Police Department and Bob Blakley, Captain of the Fairfax County PoliceDepartment in Northern Virginia addressed this new phase in society.

“With July’s announcement that the Washington D.C. Police Dept. is expanding its deployment of body-worn cameras, Chief Lanier’s take on the issue will be widely anticipated. Captain Blakley is one of the leaders of Fairfax County’s Body-Worn Camera initiative and was recently appointed Chair of the newly created Body-Worn Camera working group by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government,” the expo  website announced.

The event included numerous workshops, speeches and other events in the hope to inspire the attendees who were involved in filming and TV industry or use video for other purposes.
