ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A Turkish drone attacked a vehicle in the border town of Darbasiya in northeast Syria's al-Hasakah province on Thursday.

"A Turkish drone targeted a car near the village of Kharza 14 km east of Darbasiya district, which led to injuries," the Syrian Kurdish Hawar News Agency (ANHA) reported.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) also reported that a drone targeted a "military vehicle" in the village of Kharza, located east of the city of Al-Darbasiyah on the border with Turkey.

Ambulances reportedly rushed to the scene of the strike.

ANHA also reported that Turkish shelling occurred near Tal Tamir after the drone attack.

Also, on Wednesday, a Turkish drone targeted a village near Ain Issa, and Turkish forces shelled the Ain Dewar village near the northeast Syrian town of Derik (al-Malikiyah).

On Tuesday, a Turkish drone killed four fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and injured five civilians near the village of Teqil Beqil.

After SDF fighters recaptured the makeshift al-Sina'a prison in Hasakah, following the surrender of the remaining ISIS fighters on Sunday, Turkey has increased its shelling and drone strikes against Kurdish fighters in northeast Syria, including near Derik, Tel Tamir, Ain Issa, Tal Abyad, Manbij, as well as Kurdish villages in northern Aleppo (Shahba).

Apart from attacks in northeast Syria's Kurdish and Arabic regions, Turkey also carried out airstrikes in Sinjar (Shingal) and Makhmour on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, the Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) claimed that Turkey stepped up its attacks in response to the recent defeat of ISIS in Hasakah.

An SDF statement on Wednesday's drone attack near Derik said, "the attacks of the Turkish occupation state were not conducted without the knowledge of the international coalition forces."

Moreover, SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi tweeted that the US-led coalition against ISIS has a "responsibility to prevent such Turkish attacks."

The SDF on Wednesday also denied involvement in the shelling of the Turkish-controlled town of al-Bab that killed a number of civilians.

Also, on Wednesday, a Turkish soldier was killed by an artillery shell in Turkey's Sirnak Province near the Syrian border, Turkish media and the Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed.

The Afrin Liberation Forces (HRE) published a video on Wednesday showing them targeting a Turkish military post in northern Aleppo with an anti-tank guided missile.
