PHOTOS: Iraq hosts security, defense exhibition 

The fair was inaugurated in the presence of Iraq’s top military officials and representatives from giant corporations such as Airbus.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – More than 60 countries participated in Iraq’s 10th security and defense fair that began in Baghdad on Wednesday.

The fair was inaugurated in the presence of Iraq’s top military officials and representatives from giant corporations such as Airbus.

Light and heavy weaponry were on display during the fair, which will continue until Saturday.

“The exhibition will provide an important opportunity to inform the participating countries and companies of the capabilities of the Iraqi military industries,” as well as a platform for striking military deals between partners, Falah al-Shammari, the organizing company’s director, told the state-owned Iraqi News Agency on Sunday.

The fair, organized on the Baghdad International Fairground, was first held in 2012.
