KRG is ready to resume oil export process, stresses PM Barzani

The KRG Council of Ministers instructed the KRG delegation to continue their efforts and negotiations within the framework of the Iraqi constitution.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers convened on Wednesday, according to a statement from the KRG.

The first topic of the meeting related to the results of the recent joint discussions between the Ministry of Oil of the Iraqi Government and the KRG delegation regarding the resumption of oil exports.

The Prime Minister stressed that the KRG is ready to resume the oil export process as soon as possible in accordance with the Iraqi constitution and the Kurdistan Region's constitutional rights.

The KRG Council of Ministers then instructed the KRG delegation to continue their efforts and negotiations within the framework of the Iraqi constitution.

Later, several ministries presented their proposals regarding the restructuring of the KRG’s internal revenues, where a portion of the income would be used for the implementation of projects and services.

Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers instructed the High Board of General Finance to implement Decision No. 219 and to submit the monthly review balance of revenues and expenditures to the Ministry of Finance and Economy without delay.
