KRG Council of Ministers discuss Public Service Council

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers convened on Wednesday, according to a statement from the KRG.

In the first part of the meeting, Siraj Barzani, Director of the Public Service Council, presented a report on the public staff and public sector workforce of the KRG, with detailed figures, data, and information.

After discussing the report, the Council of Ministers approved several proposals and recommendations for the Council to further institutionalize the public service sector and labor force in the institutions of the region.

In another item of the meeting, discussions were held on the implementation of several articles and other provisions of the reform law related to the pension field, which was presented by the Head of the Department of Coordination and Follow-Up of the KRG, Abdul Hakim Khasraw.

The Council of Ministers stressed the importance of continuing the implementation of reform laws, an ongoing strategic process towards reorganizing the public service and pensions to benefit from the public budget.
