ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has announced that the strategic teacher training project will improve the teaching methods in educational institutions and create major changes.

On Saturday, Dr. Alan Hama Saeed, the KRG’s Minister of Education, during the first educational meeting in Raperin, urged in a speech that the strategic training project proposed by the Ministry of Education requires a cooperative mentality from all.

"600 teacher trainers have been prepared and trained by the Ministry of Education. Previously, teachers from villages, townships and towns could all gather in a five-star hotel and receive workshops and training, but now trainers will go to the schools," he said.

Dr. Saeed also highlighted that the training process is heavily supervised and overseen by the ministry so that the quality and standards of the training is guaranteed.

“This is not training without objective outcomes. Through the training courses that we have designed, there will be evaluation of teachers’ capabilities to ensure the modern teaching methods have been fully grasped by the teacher,” he emphasized.

Dr. Alan Hama Saeed also unveiled that there will be an exciting initiative to recognize outstanding educators in the Kurdistan Region upon the completion of the training course.

“The top-performing teachers, ranked first, second, and third based on assessment scores, will not only receive a generous financial reward but will also be honored in a grand ceremony, celebrating their exceptional contributions to education,” he added.
