ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - On the 54th anniversary of the March 11 agreement, KDP President Masoud Barzani delivered a poignant message, highlighting the "peaceful message and coexistence of the Kurdish nation" and reiterating their commitment to the struggle for legitimate rights.

President Barzani's message emphasized that the March 11, 1970 agreement was a result of the September Revolution led by the late Barzani and the collective sacrifices of the Peshmerga and all segments of Kurdistan against the oppression of Iraqi authorities.

The March 11 agreement stands as a testament to the September Revolution, led by the late Barzani, and the sacrifices of the Peshmerga and all sections of Kurdistan against the oppressive Iraqi authorities. It symbolizes a significant stride toward restoring our rights, ensuring democracy, fostering partnership and coexistence, compelling the then Iraqi government to recognize some of our people's rights.

On this 54th anniversary, we reaffirm the message of peace and coexistence of the Kurdish people. Their unwavering commitment and countless sacrifices have paved the way for the struggle to consolidate our legitimate cause.

As the anniversary marks the significance of this occasion, the Kurdish nation, as well as all the other ethnic and religious communities in the Kurdistan Region, unites in commemorating the historic March 11 agreement, recognizing it as a momentous achievement through resilience, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of justice.

The September Revolution and the March 11 agreement lives on as a beacon of hope that inspires and  encourages the Kurdish population to continue their journey towards democracy, partnership, and coexistence.
