PM Barzani receives senior delegations from Baghdad and Jordan Kuwait banks

The delegation expressed its admiration for the progress of the MyAccount initiative and the Prime Minister's vision for economic diversification and improving the banking system.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a delegation on Sunday, consisting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Baghdad and the Jordan Kuwait Bank. The delegation was led by Majid al-Sadi, Chairman of the Bank of Baghdad, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The meeting, attended by former Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Kabariti, focused on exploring opportunities for collaborative efforts and projects with the KRG. The aim was to enhance the banking system and promote economic development in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the reforms undertaken by the KRG in the banking system, the digitalization of services, and electronic payments. Additionally, he stated that the MyAccount initiative will continue, and he is actively engaging with the Iraqi Prime Minister and the Governor of the Central Bank on various banking system development initiatives.

The delegation expressed its admiration for the progress of the MyAccount initiative and the Prime Minister's vision for economic diversification and improving the banking system. Both sides agreed on the importance of supporting the efforts of the KRG in the field of banking reform.

Baghdad Bank is one of Iraq's largest commercial banks and was the first to be licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq in 1992. Jordan Kuwait Bank, on the other hand, is a Jordanian bank that operates branches in various Arab countries.
