ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Shakhawan Abdulla, Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, on Friday told Kurdistan24 that "now there is no excuse for the Iraqi government not to send Kurdistan Region civil servant salaries."

Abdulla also said that the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister had used all political and diplomatic efforts for that purpose.

“Kurdistan Region is dealing with a government that has never kept its commitments, but this time the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has left nothing to be forgiven and will not tolerate the violation of Kurdistan Region constitutional rights,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the deputy speaker stated that upon the request of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Baghdad provided the security forces with salaries, and the Kurdistan Region people appreciated the Prime Minister's efforts.

Regarding the Kirkuk situation, Abdulla announced in a presser that after more than four months of provincial council elections, Kirkuk could not establish a local administration due to the sensitivity of the situation.

He pointed out that after meetings with both the Arab and Turkmen parties in the city, they are now close to an agreement.
