ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Ari Nanakali, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), emphasized during a visit to Kurdistan24 News Room that Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister, enjoys significant trust among Kurdistan’s citizens.

Nanakali highlighted Barzani's commitment to fulfilling promises both domestically and in dealings with Baghdad.

He also stated that certain individuals, who considered themselves representatives of the people, failed in opposing the policies of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

He remarked, "Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his team remained steadfast, pursuing political and diplomatic channels to secure the rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region."

Nanakali acknowledged the challenges the KRG has faced, not only concerning salaries but also other issues. However, he praised the resilience of both the prime minister and the people of the Kurdistan Region, which has led to the realization of their rights under the Iraqi constitution.

Regarding recent salary issues, Nanakali criticized certain individuals who claimed to speak on behalf of the people but instead undermined the prime minister's efforts. He commended Barzani's wise policies and the KRG's diplomatic approach in addressing such challenges, particularly in ensuring timely salary payments.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani announced on Wednesday (March 27, 2024) that the KRG had decided to disburse February salaries and implement measures to alleviate the economic burden on the people of the Kurdistan Region.

These measures include providing land to government employees, discounts on utility bills, traffic fines, meat import fees, parallel study fees in public universities, water charges, and municipal fees.

Barzani expressed hope that these actions would aid the Kurdish people and thanked them for their resilience during these challenging times.

He also expressed optimism about resolving outstanding issues with the federal government, aiming for improved relations and stability in the Kurdistan Region's financial situation.
