KRG President, Iraq’s coalition leaders hold talks on regional issues

They also emphasized their commitment to the content of the political agreement that formed the Iraqi government.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani has met with the Iraqi government's state administration coalition to discuss domestic, regional, and international developments.

After the meeting, the leaders of the state administration coalition issued a statement saying that they discussed with President Nechirvan Barzani the common issues between Erbil and Baghdad and how to resolve them as stated in the constitution.

Additionally, the meeting’s read-out reiterated the state administration coalition’s commitment to protecting the stability and interests of the entire Iraqi people and its communities.

They also emphasized their commitment to the content of the political agreement that formed the Iraqi government.

Another aspect of the meeting, as stated in the read-out, was discussing issues related to the political, security, and economic situation, along with the government's steps and measures to improve the economic situation and welfare of citizens, benefiting from relative stability and development.

The meeting also addressed the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and his accompanying delegation to the United States and the issues that al-Sudani will discuss with the US administration during his visit.

According to the statement, the leaders of the state administration coalition expressed their support for al-Sudani’s visit and confidence that what the Sudani-led Iraqi delegation will discuss during the visit will be within the framework of interests and the reorganization of security, stability, and sustainable development.
