KRG President met with Iraq's President in Baghdad

The two leaders discussed the situation in the country, Erbil-Baghdad relations, the latest agreement between the KRG and the Iraqi Federal Government on the salaries of KRG employees, and efforts to resolve the issues in accordance with the constitution.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – In a meeting on Sunday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani and Iraqi President Latif Rasheed stressed the importance of continuing dialogue to resolve issues and implement the state coalition agreement.

The two leaders discussed the situation in the country, Erbil-Baghdad relations, the latest agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Federal Government on the salaries of KRG employees, and efforts to resolve the issues in accordance with the constitution.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue to resolve the issues and implement the state coalition agreement to establish the federal government and ensure the rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region and its employees, keeping political issues separate.

They also stressed the cooperation and coordination of their political parties to maintain peace and stability in the country, as necessary.

Nechirvan Barzani stressed that the understanding between Erbil and Baghdad and the agreement on the salary issue will have a positive impact on the development of relations between the two sides.

The Iraqi President also emphasized the importance of supporting the implementation of the federal government's agenda and appreciated the role of the Kurdistan Regional Government President in resolving issues and his continuous efforts to bring the parties closer together and resolve the issues.

In a bid to bolster regional ties and address pressing issues, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani embarked on a significant visit to Baghdad on Saturday, April 6th.
