ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Sunday told Kurdistan24 that "The agreement between the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, and the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, regarding civil servant salaries is an excellent first step.”

“We discussed the future of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq during our meeting. We attempted to establish a mechanism for continuing these discussions," the Kurdistan Region President said.

Regarding the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections, Barzani revealed that there has been no change to the date of the parliamentary election.

Concerning Kurdistan Region oil exports, he noted that they have “discussed this issue with Iraqi officials and believe oil exports should resume because this issue has aggravated the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.”

“There has been a loss of over $7 billion in the Iraqi budget as a result of the suspension of oil exports. We hope to reach a resolution to this issue with more delegations from the Kurdistan Regional Government visiting Baghdad,” he added.
