ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - In an incident last night, a school in the southern Iraqi province of Nasiriyah crumbled under the force of a thunderstorm and gale. Witnesses described the chaotic scene as several cabins making up the school collapsed, leaving rubble in their wake.

Thankfully, amidst the destruction, there were no reported casualties. However, the aftermath of the collapse has left hundreds of students stranded without a place to continue their education.

The dire situation caused by dust storm has prompted authorities to declare a state of emergency in parts of Iraq since Monday, April 8th, underscoring the severity of the weather and the need for urgent assistance to address the needs of the affected people.
