ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy announced on Saturday that it had intercepted an Israeli cargo ship in the Gulf.

According to reports from IRNA, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy conducted a helicopter operation to seize the Portuguese-flagged cargo vessel MSC Ariz near the Strait of Hormuz. The ship's ownership was initially reported as Israeli, but later clarification revealed its Portuguese registration.

Following the operation, the vessel was captured and towed to Iranian shores, as confirmed by the agency.

The incident marks another escalation in tensions in the region, as Iranian authorities continue to assert their control over maritime activities in the strategic waterways of the Gulf.
