PM Barzani’s decision on tax exemption for merchants and employers implemented

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The decision made by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to exempt merchants and employers participating in social security from 100% of their tax arrears has now been implemented, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The KRG has announced that the Council of Ministers, based on Article (8) of the Law of the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region No. (3) of 1992 as amended, has unanimously made this decision, which was also stated in the meeting No. (128) held on March 27.

Exemption of 100% is granted to merchants and employers who participate in Social Security, on the condition that they pay 100% of their social security contributions within 90 working days from the date of this decision, per the statement.

The decision also indicated that all ministries and relevant parties must implement this decision on the date that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs publishes it.

Prime Minister Barzani on March 27, issued several decisions, among them the distribution of Kurdistan Region civil servant salaries.
