Erdogan, top Kurdish officials discuss enhancing coordination in trade and investment

Both sides agreed on the significance of upholding regional security and stability, as well as resolving issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi government through negotiations based on the constitution.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday evening arrived in Erbil and received a warm welcome from Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani.

Then, during a joint meeting attended by several senior officials from the Kurdistan Region, they discussed the progress of bilateral relations as well as the most recent developments in Iraq and the region, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Both sides agreed on the significance of upholding regional security and stability, as well as resolving issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi government through negotiations based on the constitution. Furthermore, they aimed to enhance coordination and collaboration in trade and investment.

Erdogan also met with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani.

Erdogan's visit to Erbil follows his visit to Baghdad, where he was warmly welcomed by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani at the Baghdad airport. Both sides emphasized the significance of enhancing bilateral relations between their countries.
