PM Barzani facilitates financial aid for 13,000 persons with special needs

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Thursday, April 25, the Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has authorized the submission of the names of 13,000 individuals with special needs to the Federal Ministry of Finance, paving the way for them to receive financial assistance.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's decision to send the names of 13,000 new individuals with special needs to the Federal Ministry of Finance was confirmed.

This initiative aims to secure monthly financial grants for these individuals.

The statement highlighted that, under the direct guidance of Prime Minister Barzani, the Kurdistan Region has resumed the registration of new individuals with special needs after a hiatus of over a decade.

More than 13,000 individuals underwent assessment in the initial phase, and their names have been forwarded to the Federal Ministry of Finance to facilitate the provision of grants for persons with special needs.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs had previously documented 13,227 individuals with special needs as of October 24, 2023. These individuals underwent examination by specialized committees in the preceding period as part of the initial assessment phase.
