ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday in a post on X expressed his deep concern over Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter accident.

“I’m deeply concerned about the helicopter crash in Iran. I hope President Raisi and the other passengers are safe. My thoughts are with them and their families, and I pray for the well-being of everyone on board,” the prime minister said.

Iranian President Raisi's helicopter suffered a hard landing on Sunday afternoon, according to Iranian state media.

The head of the Iranian Red Crescent operations department told Iranian media that more than 46 rescue teams are currently searching for the president's helicopter and his accompanying delegation.

He said that their teams had reached the scene but unfortunately due to poor weather conditions, the searches had not yielded any results.

"Unfortunately, nothing could be found by airplanes or drones due to heavy fog," he added.
