Plan how to cope with weather changes

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In an interview with the Kurdistan 24 broadcasting on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the Kurdistan Region’s Environment Board Abdulrazaq Khailani affirmed the formation of the board for the climate changes that includes representatives from all the ministries in the Kurdistan Region’s Government.

Also they have opened an office for the weather and climate change to operate and tackle any procedure regarding the negative weather change in the region.

The spokesperson confirmed the agency has a plan for the next 5 years to reduce the negative impact of the factors affecting the weather and causing pollution to the air and environment as well as how to cope with the negative changes.

“Weather changes as a result of poor sewage water treatment, local and public electricity generators, cars and factories fuel and gas emissions, plastics usage excess.” Khailani stated.  

According to the spox’s statement the office and the board are working side by side the KRG to provide guidelines and advice to the publics and private sectors companies on reduction of the excretes, gas emissions, incineration and all other related elements e.g. energy, recycling, pollution and weather changes.

“There are few companies for recycling but belong to the private sector, the KRG is planning to build a new recycling system to broaden the work and protect the air and environment” He added.  

There is a bond 10 of the law in the KRG 9th cabinet to improve and progress the issues related to the weather and climate changes.
