Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani meets with Major General Joel B. Vowell to Discuss Regional Security

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Thursday, President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani welcomed Major General Joel B. Vowell, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, along with his delegation, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region's Presidency.

The statement detailed that the meeting focused on the security situation, emphasizing the ongoing threat of terrorism and ISIS to the stability and peace in Iraq and Syria.

Both parties underscored the necessity of sustained cooperation and coordination between the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi army, and coalition forces to address these security challenges.

Additionally, the discussion highlighted the progress of the reform process within the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs and the unification of the Peshmerga forces.

Both sides concurred on the importance of supporting these reforms and overcoming any obstacles.
