PM Masrour Barzani meets UNFPA Regional Director

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Thursday, Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Laila Baker, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s Regional Director for Arab States.

The discussions focused on the work, projects, and activities undertaken by UNFPA in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in developing and improving the capabilities and skills necessary to conduct population censuses and statistics.

This comes as Iraq is scheduled to conduct a general population census in November of this year.

Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the relevant authorities in the Kurdistan Region, the federal government, and the UNFPA.
