ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is meeting with the Italian Judicial Committee to uncover the truth behind the recent boat sinking incident and to determine the fate of the migrants whose bodies have not yet been found.

Awara Hawrami, Kurdistan 24's correspondent in Italy, reported that as the meeting between the KRG delegation and the Italian Judicial Committee began, the bodies of six more migrants were recovered.

The KRG delegation aims to ascertain the total number of passengers on the boat and locate the bodies still missing in the water. Hawrami stated that the delegation is investigating the details of the incident and the current stage of the investigation. The KRG insists that the Italian government assist in finding the remaining bodies.

On Wednesday, an operations room was formed on the recommendation of the KRG, involving the Ministry of Interior and the Foreign Relations Office, to closely monitor the situation and its consequences.

On Monday, June 17, a boat capsized in Italian waters, leaving dozens of migrants, including some Kurds, missing, according to Italian media reports.
