ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The tourist areas of Halabja province and Hawraman have always been major attractions, particularly during holidays when they become the most popular destinations for tourists and picnic goers.

The General Directorate of Tourism in Halabja reports that approximately 100,000 tourists visited the region's tourist areas in recent days.

The natural beauty of Halabja and Hawraman draws large crowds, with visitors enjoying the scenic views and local vendors offering a variety of goods that reflect the local culture.

Yasin Abdullah, a tourist from Baghdad, visited the Ahmad Awa Waterfall resort to have fun and take keepsake photos with his friends. This is his fourth visit to the area, and he is calling for more diverse services.

"This is my fourth visit to this place, but only the number of restaurants in this area has increased. We hope the increase will be diverse, like in other countries where tourist areas are developed in different ways," Abdullah said.

There are 36 tourist areas in Halabja province and Hawraman, and the tourist season runs from the end of March until the end of December. The General Directorate of Tourism in Halabja has provided tourist guides and instructed the owners of tourist areas and restaurants to welcome visitors hospitably.

Many tourists are visiting the area for the second or third time, praising the pleasant nature and the facilities provided by Halabja tourism. The General Directorate plans to continue attracting large numbers of tourists in the coming years, ensuring that Halabja and Hawraman remain top tourist destinations.
