PM Masrour Barzani congratulates Yezidis on the Çileya Havînê feast

"On this occasion, we renew the Kurdistan Regional Government’s support for the rights and demands of our Yezidi brothers and sisters," the Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said in his message.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Friday extended his congratulations on Yezidis (Ezidi) on their annual festival, Çileya Havînê Feast, that marks the fortieth day of summer celebrated on August 2.

The Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani extended his heartfelt congratulations to all Yezidis on the occasion of the Yezidi Summer Festival, or Çileya Havînê in Kurdish.

The following is the text of his message:

"On the occasion of the Çileya Havînê Feast, we extend our warmest congratulations to all our Yezidi brothers and sisters in Kurdistan and around the world, especially the Prince of Yezidis, Baba Sheikh, and members of the Spiritual Council.

On this occasion, we renew the Kurdistan Regional Government’s support for the rights and demands of our Yezidi brothers and sisters.

Happy Eid, and may your days be filled with joy and happiness."

Çileya Havînê means the fortieth day of summer and is commonly used to indicate the middle of the season.
