Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani thanks Maj. Gen. Joel Vowell for service in Iraq, Syria
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Saturday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Major General Joel Vowell, Commander of the Allied Forces in Iraq and Syria, to thank him for his service as he completes his duties in the region.
During the meeting, Kurdistan Region's President Barzani expressed his gratitude to Maj. Gen. Vowell for his dedication and service, wishing him success in his future endeavors. He also reiterated the Kurdistan Region's appreciation for the Allied Forces' commitment to defeating ISIS in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Major General Vowell conveyed his satisfaction with his mission in Iraq and Syria and expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation received from the Kurdistan Region.
He emphasized the importance of ongoing international support for both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting, attended by Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Forces Jamal Eminki and other officials, concluded with a mutual agreement on the persistent threat posed by ISIS to regional peace and stability.
Both sides also reviewed the current situation in Iraq and Syria and discussed recent regional developments.
