ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) has played a pivotal role in providing relief to those affected by ISIS, offering hope and support to the people of Kurdistan, according to Musa Ahmed, head of the foundation.

In a press conference marking the 19th anniversary of the foundation, Ahmed stated, "Despite the numerous problems and crises we have faced, the Barzani Charity Foundation has managed to serve those victimized by these crises. BCF represents a beacon of hope for all Kurdistanis."

Reflecting on past challenges, Ahmed noted, "We have endured major disasters in the past. Few people in Kurdistan have not experienced life in exile. Therefore, having an organization dedicated to this service has been a significant source of hope for the people of Kurdistan, addressing the gaps and shortcomings during disasters."

Ahmed emphasized the foundation's ongoing commitment, "We always hope that Kurdistan will be free from disaster. This organization is always prepared to serve with full resources and a humane approach."

Recalling the 2014 crisis, Ahmed highlighted, "When the people of Sinjar were forced to flee their homes due to ISIS terrorists, the Barzani Charity Foundation, alongside the Kurdish people and government teams, played an active and crucial role."

He also recounted the foundation's achievements during the crisis, "In 2024, during those challenging times, we managed to provide 9.9 million healthy hot meals in less than 150 days. I commend the agency's staff for ensuring no adverse health conditions among the refugees. According to assessments by the WFP, Ministry of Health, and WHO, our relief efforts were exemplary, offering refugees the kind of food they were accustomed to at home, which minimized health issues."

Ahmed concluded by underscoring the foundation's continuous efforts, "There are many achievements of the Barzani Charity Foundation, too numerous to list here. The key point is that our Kurdish nation and Kurdistan should take pride in these accomplishments, remain free from disasters, and enjoy peace, as we have more projects aimed at promoting peace."
