KRG Peshmerga Minister announces significant progress in the Peshmerga's reform process

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Peshmerga Minister, Shoresh Ismail, announced significant progress in the Ministry of Peshmerga's reform process on Tuesday. Speaking to Kurdistan24, Minister Ismail emphasized the strong commitment and concrete steps taken towards reform.

The Peshmerga Minister highlighted the substantial support from both the KRG and the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, noting a remarkable 80% reduction in financial waste within the Peshmerga Ministry.

He detailed that these reforms span both the military and administrative sectors, paving the way for the establishment of a unified national Peshmerga force capable of addressing future threats.

"The journey is challenging, but the creation of a unified force remains the aspiration of every Kurdish individual," Ismail stated, reaffirming his ongoing dedication to the reform process.

Earlier, the Peshmerga Minister announced the delivery of a significant quantity of heavy weapons from the US government to the Peshmerga forces.
