Areen was awarded medal by Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Admiral Sir Tony Radakin who is the professional Head of the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces and Principal Military Adviser to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Defense.
This year he was appointed as the Representative at the 233rd of Sovereign's Parade for Commissioning Course of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
On Friday, August 9, 2024, Admiral Tony Radakin, the British Royal Representative to the alumni, gave the speech “in the future each of the participants of the Royal Military Academy will become a character military and administrative order in their countries and representation and responsibility they get it.
The British Royal Representative pointed out the participants undertook many difficult tasks during the courses and faithfully fulfilled their learning tasks.
One of the graduates of the academy Areen Barzani, who was among 290 people received the honour and awarded the medal that the symbol of the Royalty of Britain engraved in.
Passing by the cadets, Sir Radakin would stand, greet at Areen and have a long chat with him.
The award recognises an extraordinary achievement to the International Cadets who would successfully complete the Regular Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS).

Since 2016, the medals have been awarded to graduates, and to the international graduates there was the Sandhurst Sovereign's Medals as well.
Radakin underlined that those who participated in the course will become the hope for the future of their own people as well as their country and will be reliable in the management and suspension of public and official duties.
He stressed that most of those who graduated from such courses became famous personalities and used the high abilities they have learned to serve their country.
International students in the 233rd course at the Royal Sandhurst Military Academy received medals for completing the intensive training.
King Abdullah of Jordan, King of Bahrain and the President of the UAE are also graduates from the same academy.
