German forces deliver medical supplies to Peshmerga, strengthening bilateral ties

The medical aid included a number of military backpacks equipped with first aid supplies, which will be utilized to enhance the health and safety of the Peshmerga forces.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Peshmerga Ministry announced on Thursday that it has received a shipment of medical aid from the commander of German forces stationed in the Kurdistan Region.

In a statement obtained by Kurdistan 24, the ministry detailed that the German aid was handed over during a ceremony attended by several high-ranking officials, including Major General Hoshmand Haider Rashid, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration and Supplies, Brigadier General Farman Zarari, the Deputy Director General of Supplies, and Reza Sinyar, Director of Health Affairs at the ministry.

The ceremony also saw the participation of Colonel Lars Persikowski, Commander of German Forces in the Kurdistan Region.

The medical aid included a number of military backpacks equipped with first aid supplies, which will be utilized to enhance the health and safety of the Peshmerga forces.

Major General Rashid expressed his gratitude to Germany for its continued support to the Peshmerga, highlighting the significant impact of German assistance on strengthening the health sector within the Peshmerga forces.

He also praised Germany's long-standing role in supporting the Peshmerga, particularly since the beginning of the war against ISIS, noting their contribution to developing the medical sector, including the construction of a hospital for the Peshmerga and assistance to various military units.

Colonel Persikowski reaffirmed the strong relationship between the German military team and the Peshmerga Ministry, emphasizing that the aid delivered on Thursday is a testament to the ongoing collaboration.

He also mentioned that additional assistance is planned according to the 2024 schedule, further strengthening the partnership between the two forces.
