Duhok Governor, British Consul General discuss Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Duhok Governor Ali Tatar welcomed British Consul General Andrew Bizley and his delegation on Monday to discuss key issues concerning the Kurdistan Region, with a special focus on the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In a statement from the Duhok governorate, both officials addressed a range of topics, including the region’s security, prosperity, and the peaceful coexistence of its diverse communities. However, the highlight of the meeting was the discussion surrounding the Kurdistan Region’s parliamentary elections, set to take place soon.

Governor Tatar emphasized the importance of ensuring that the election process reflects the democratic and civilized values of the region. With the campaign period approaching, he assured that the Duhok provincial administration has made all necessary preparations to facilitate a free, fair, and peaceful election process.

British Consul General Bizley expressed his support for the elections, voicing hope that the voting process would proceed smoothly, maintaining the principles of democracy and fairness. He commended the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for its commitment to upholding democratic standards and ensuring that the elections are held in a peaceful environment.
