Kurdistan Region, UK ink deal to boost trade, investment
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a significant step towards bolstering bilateral ties, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met a British delegation led by His Majesty's Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan, Oliver Christian, on Tuesday.
The meeting, held in the presence of British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Andrew Bizley, and other dignitaries, centered around strategies to deepen UK-Kurdistan Region relations, particularly in trade and investment.
Prime Minister Barzani conveyed his gratitude for the UK's enduring support to the Kurdistan Region and underscored his commitment to further strengthening cooperation in various fields.
His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner, Oliver Christian, highlighted the strategic importance of the Kurdistan Region and emphasized the abundant opportunities for expanding bilateral partnerships.
Following their fruitful discussions, Prime Minister Barzani presided over the signing of a crucial trade development agreement between the Kurdistan Region and the UK.
The agreement identifies key areas for collaboration, encompassing agriculture, healthcare, human capital development, and technology.
