PM Barzani, EU Ambassador discuss strengthening anti-terrorism cooperation

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday met with Thomas Seiler, the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, to discuss expanding cooperation, particularly in the fight against terrorism. The meeting, attended by Radu Butum, Head of the EU Office in Erbil, focused on reinforcing bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration in key areas.

Both leaders underscored the importance of joint efforts to combat terrorism, highlighting the need for stronger cooperation between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the European Union. Discussions also covered reforms being implemented by the KRG's ninth cabinet, targeting improvements in financial and banking systems, fighting corruption, reducing bureaucracy, and preventing the waste of public resources.

The Prime Minister and Ambassador Seiler reiterated their commitment to bolstering security measures, with both sides agreeing that continued coordination is crucial in the global effort to eradicate terrorism.
