President Barzani attended Epic play "Dastan of Kurdistan" in Duhok

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – In a speech, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani described the play as "very wonderful" and said it was "a restoration of the history of the Kurdish people in a very orderly manner."

The play, which will be staged in Duhok, Erbil and Sulaimani, tells the story of Kurdish historical stages from the time of Kaveh Assanger to October 16, 2017, telling the story of Kurdistan's liberation struggle with many beautiful artistic scenes.

According to President Barzani, as the Kurdish people, "we have a very rich history, but unfortunately we do not know our history; so it is appropriate to do artistic activities (in this field). 

In his speech, President Barzani instructed officials of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the KDP to "support such activities.

My recommendation to our friends in the government and the party is to support such activities.

I have two observations; One of them is that the weapon "Brno" was supposedly of the "Lee in Field" type, "Lee in Field" is an English type of weapon, not Brno. Remove that word, because it is not true. The weapon I had and received was a "Brno", not a "Lee in Field" and was a 7.92 caliber.

My second remark is that when they say that they have learned from their fathers and grandfathers not to keep their promises; Don't talk about their ancestors. Say, 'We learned from our fathers to keep our promises,' but do not say, 'They learned from their fathers not to keep their promises.

Most of the events of this play are taken from the historical books of President Barzani.

The play is 90 minutes long and 90 actors participated in it. The text will be published in Kurdish, Sorani, Badini, Latin, English and Arabic.

The Great September Revolution led by the late Barzani was the greatest encompassing, political and Kurdistan people’s armed revolution to defend and affirm the legitimate rights of Kurdish people.

The September Revolution restored the will and self-confidence to Kurdish human and became a strong political, organizational and popular foundation for the continuation of the Kurdish people's freedom combat against oppression and colonization.

The September Revolution, with its epic, bravery, resistance, leadership, Peshmerga and Kurdish people’s righteous and legitimate cause, put several steps forward and became an inspiration for the combat for other phases to Kurdish people.

On the 63rd remembrance of the Great September Revolution setting off, we give thousands greetings to the souls of the martyrs of the September Revolution and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.

I, also, appreciate Peshmergas’ sacrifices and hard work, fighters and heroes whose fingerprints are visible in this national pride. These heroes recorded a history for their people and the lives and the combat of each one of them is a lesson of combating and resistance.”
