VIDEO: 34 killed in suicide attack targeted a wedding in Hasakah

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – A suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest at a Kurdish wedding in northern Hasakah, Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava).

According to a Kurdistan24 reporter, at least 34were killed and 90 others wounded by the explosion at Sanabil Hall, northern Hasakah.

The wounded were transferred to the hospitals in Rojava, and some of the wounded victims were transferred to the Kurdistan Region hospitals for treatment.

The online-circled IS news agency Aamaq named the attacker as Abu al-Bara Ansari, adding that he opened fire on the “PKK apostates” before blowing himself up, although the wedding was mainly attended by families close to the Kurdish National Council (known as ENKS).

The Kurdistan Region medical teams in Zakho have been sent to Peshabur border crossing point to recieved the wounded people to be treated in the Region if needed.

Meanwhile, the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region condemned the attack in Hasaka.

In a statement online, the Presidency announced all the medical facilities in the Region were ready to receive the wounded from Rojava or send aid there.

The Hasaka attack is the second IS attack on a Kurdish wedding in less than two months.
