ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – A Kurdish university professor has stored four decades of Kurdish history, calling on Kurds to value and prioritize these archives.

Nejat Elemdar is an instructor at the University of Cihan in Erbil, teaching international relations and diplomacy.

In an interview with Kurdistan24, Elemdar said he was 10-years-old when he began to preserve historical records, especially postal stamps from different countries around the world.

He exchanged letters with people from abroad to receive various stamps.

According to Elemdar, it led him to learn different languages including English, French, Turkish, Persian, and German.

The university professor later started to collect Kurdish-related archives such as photos, documents, and articles.

In the video below, he discusses his journey of preserving these historical records.
