PM Masrour Barzani to lay foundation stone for four projects in Soran
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, will lay the foundation stone for four significant projects in the Soran Independent Administration on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
This event marks another milestone in the ongoing development efforts under the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
The KRG has dedicated substantial resources to these initiatives, with a budget of 21.5 billion dinars allocated since the beginning of the year for various projects.
These efforts highlight the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure and promoting prosperity in the region.
One of the most notable projects is the Hamilton International Road, which connects the Haji Omeran Border Crossing with the provinces of Erbil and Duhok.
Recognizing its strategic importance, the KRG has allocated 80 billion dinars for this road, making it a unique and unprecedented project in the region.
Prime Minister Barzani recently inaugurated the Ranya Bridge, another critical infrastructure project, in a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, Minister of Housing and Reconstruction Dana Abdulkareem Hamasalih, local officials, and residents.

This bridge is expected to significantly benefit local farmers and boost the region's tourism sector by connecting Pishder, Bitwan, and Marga.
During his speech at the inauguration, Prime Minister Barzani acknowledged the financial challenges faced by the government but emphasized the efforts made, with the support of the private sector, to improve infrastructure, particularly in road and bridge construction. He highlighted the importance of these projects for the community and their role in fostering economic development.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony in Soran symbolizes the KRG's ongoing commitment to regional development and infrastructure improvement, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents and supporting economic growth.
