ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Iraqi Meteorological Agency has issued a weather forecast indicating a significant rise in temperatures across southern Iraq throughout the week.
The forecast predicts that temperatures will surge to 50 degrees Celsius in many parts of central and southern Iraq from Saturday until the week's end, driven by an intense heat wave.
Weather experts warn that Iraq is set to endure extreme heat this summer.
Additionally, the agency forecasts intermittent rains in the coming days, specifically over the northern heights of Duhok and parts of Mosul.
Increased humidity levels in southern Iraq are expected to begin today and persist until Wednesday morning.
