IHEC Announced Registered Votes in Kurdistan Region
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) declared there are nearly 3 million and 800 thousand legally entitled to vote in Kurdistan Region. On October 20th, is the 6th round of the Kurdistan Region’s Parliamentary General Election.
However, only 2 million and 901 thousand got registered to vote, and from that 240 thousand registered to vote privately.
The IHEC Spokesperson Jumana al-Ghalai announced "Out of, almost, 3 million and 800 thousand can vote, only there are 2 million, 901 thousand and 80 voters got registered."
According to IHEC Spokesperson’s statement out of the total number, a 2 million, 672 thousand and 43 individuals are from public who cast their vote, yet a 239 thousand and 37 individuals who are from Peshmerga, Police and Kurdistan Regional Security Agency forces will cast their vote to the candidates in private.
For further confirmation she highlighted, in Erbil province, there are 1,016,357 individuals cast their vote to the candidates, 982 thousand and 823 of public will vote in public, but 82 thousand and 525 voters are civil servants (Peshmerga, Police and Kurdistan Regional Security Agency).
Sulaimani province has 1,146,530 voters, 1,003,772 cast their vote to the candidates in public, and 74,915 in private.
There are 738,193 who can cast their vote in Duhok province, 680,443 can vote in public while 55,100 vote in private for the abovementioned reason.
In Halabja province 62,584 can cast their vote, 59,500 in public and 579 in private.
On June 26, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani announced the 6th round of general elections for Kurdistan Region Parliament will be held on October 20, 2024.
