British Secretary of State Lammy made phone call with Iran's Acting Foreign Secretary Kani

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The MP for Tottenham, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, David Lammy, made a phone call with the Iran's acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani.

After such unrest and instability face the Middle East, Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minster, neighborhood countries, other countries around the world urged for de-escalating the tensions, violnce and retaliation war.

Since the October 7th, 2023 the conflict reached almost its darkest for civilians, UK regularly and immanently attempted to mediate between all the parties to gain the ceasefire and stability back to the Middle East.

Mr. Lammy expressed UK Government’s worries of a potential and devastating consequences, if the tensions continue.

Through his X’s official account (formerly Twitter), the British Secretary of State posted an update "It is not in anyone's interest to increase tensions in the Middle East, so I spoke to Iran's Acting Foreign Secretary Ali Baqeri Kani.” 

His message came as US officials have directly warned Iran and Israel not to complicate the situation in the region. Therefore, for Iran to refrain from retaliating and attacking Israel has been highlighted through media networks.

However, on Wednesday, the Islamic Republic of Iran vowed revenge on Israel after the killing of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh at his residence on the outskirts of Tehran.
