Surprise mouse passenger forces unscheduled landing on SAS flight
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - An unexpected passenger, a mouse, made its presence known during an SAS flight from Oslo to Malaga on Wednesday, forcing the plane to make an unscheduled landing in Copenhagen.
Airlines typically have strict policies against rodents on board due to the potential for them to gnaw through critical electrical wiring.
One passenger, Jarle Borrestad, captured the unusual incident on his Facebook page, sharing a photo of himself with other passengers and recounting, "Believe it or not. A lady next to me... opened her food and a mouse jumped out."
SAS spokesperson, Oystein Schmidt, confirmed the incident to the Agence France-Presse (AFP) and stated that the airline followed its procedures by switching aircraft and flying the passengers to Malaga on a different plane.
Schmidt reassured that such incidents are "extremely rare" and emphasized that SAS has established protocols for these situations.
The airline will also be reviewing the matter with its suppliers to prevent any similar occurrences in the future.
