WATCH: Kurdistan24 inspect an IS prison in Qayyarah, south Mosul

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) -On Wednesday, Kurdistan24 reporter Hoshmand Sadiq accompanied a former prisoner of the Islamic State (IS) and inspected the inside of an IS prisons in the town of Qayyarah. 

Abdulrazaq Nasir is one of the ex-prisoners of the jihadist group who has been jailed for four times for various reasons. According to Nasir, over 10 Kurdish Ezidi women were jailed, and he rescued two of them and took them to Baghdad. 

He noted that IS would arrest smokers, amputate thieves, and behead spies.

 

Qayyarah was liberated by the Iraqi security forces on August 25.

IS exploded oil wells of the town and black oil has covered some neighborhoods of Qayyarah.

Firefighters have so far been unable to fully control the fire.
